Easier readers, as the name implies, are intended for children who are just learning to read. They normally have easy words and lots of pictures. Some places also refer to them as picture books.

Our easy readers are shelved alphabetically by the first three (3) letters of the author’s last name in accordance with the Dewey Decimal System. Their call numbers automatically start with an E (this designates them as easy readers). So if you were looking for a book by Dr. Seuss, you would look in the easy reader section and the call number would be: E SEU

If we have more than one book by an author the books are shelved alphabetically by the book title. Example: And to think I saw it on Mullberry Street, would be shelved before Cat in the hat.
