How to find TAMUK Theses in the Library
Main Menu TAMUK Main Menu

There are a few different ways of looking up theses in Oasis, the library’s online catalog. If you know the name of the author, you can perform an author search. If you know the title of the thesis, you can perform a title search.

If you do not know the author or title you should do a keyword search in Oasis (electronic catalog). Oasis is located under  Books & More on the library’s webpage. Select keyword and  type in the word “theses.” This will bring up all the theses done at TAMUK. They will be listed starting with the most current.  If you have a specific topic, you can type that as well: in the search box  type “theses and your topic” (for example “theses Texas art”). Please remember that it can take up to three months after the thesis is written for the library to obtain a copy.

All theses, dissertations, and research projects done by TAMUK students are shelved behind the Circulation Desk.

A&M Systems Dissertations & Theses

New to the library this year is Current Research at Texas A&M University. This web based database provides full text access to dissertations and theses written at all Texas A&M system campuses starting in 1996.

The dissertations and theses are available for viewing online or downloading in a PDF format. You can search by keyword, author, or advisor.

  • From the library’s website select All Resources (if you are on campus) or All Off Campus (if you are not on campus)
  • From the alphabetical list select Current Research at Texas Arial A&M University. (If you are connecting from off campus you will be asked for your name and university ID)
  • Then perform your search.
  • Once you find a dissertation or theses you would like, simply click on the PDF icon   to download it.
  • Next you will be asked for your email address. You will be emailed a copy of a pin number in case you forget it.
  • Once you enter your email address, you will be given the pin number and a link (wwwlib.umi.com/cr/tamucomm/download) to where the download will be available.
  • Simply click on that link and enter the pin number you were provided with, then click on download.

These files are very large and will not fit onto a floppy disk. If you want to download them, you should either download them on to a CD or your hard drive.
