Jernigan Library has more than 3,000 video titles, from classic
and popular films to instructional and educational materials.
If you know the title of the video you are looking for, just
go to OASIS (our online catalog) and select "Title" search. Enter
the title of the video. You will get a list of results. Click on the entry that
includes the full title for which you are searching. If you then click on "Extended
Display" at the top of the
screen, you will see icons for the type of medium or material of each entry.
For instance, the icon that denotes video material looks like this
.
Click on the video title to check availability and make note of the Call Number.
Another way to find videos is to go to OASIS and select "Keyword"
search. Type in the keyword(s) which describes the topic in which you are interested.
For instance, you may be looking for videos related to the Civil Rights Movement.
You could enter "Civil Rights" in the search box. Next, you will notice
on the "Keyword" search page that there are several boxes with drop
down menus. One of these drop down menus is labeled "Material Type."
Click on the arrow and select "VIDEO" from the drop down menu. Now
you are ready to do your search; simply click on the "Search" button.
Your results should include only videos related to the Civil Rights Movement.
Videos are shelved at the Circulation Desk and can be checked
out for three days. Remember to have the Call Number with you when you approach
the Desk. Videos can be viewed in Technology and Learning Center on the third floor.
