Digital Dissertations (ProQuest)
Main Menu TAMUK Main Menu

If you are looking for dissertations from other universities, the best place to look is ProQuest's Digital Dissertations. Digital Dissertations is an electronic version of Dissertations Abstracts.

Digital Dissertations provides bibliographic citations for doctoral dissertations completed at North American colleges and universities from 1861 to the present.  Records after 1980 include abstracts. Titles published since 1997 are available in PDF digital format and have 24 page previews available.  A selection of masters theses citations is also included.

You can search Dissertation Abstracts by author, keyword, broad subject areas such as education, subject terms such as education administration, or by school. Dissertation abstracts will provide you with the complete citation information and an abstract for dissertations.

If you locate a dissertation you would like and Jernigan Library does not own a copy of it you can request it through Interlibrary Loan. If Interlibrary Loan is unable to find a library willing to lend their copy, they can help you to order the dissertation for a fee. You may also place an order online through ProQuest and they will email you the dissertation in pdf format for $27.00. To order a dissertation online you must use a credit card.

If you would like assistance in using Dissertation Abstracts, please feel free to ask the Reference Librarian on duty for help.

With few exceptions, the Jernigan Library owns only theses/dissertations written at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  Also be aware that Texas A&M System schools' dissertations are available online via Current Research @ Texas A&M.
