Jernigan Library Recall Books Policy

Books that are checked out and are overdue, can be recalled.  The following guidelines are to be used:

1.  Library staff will attempt to notify patron with overdue material by phone.  If no contact is made by phone a first recall notice is sent out.

2.  A second recall notice is sent on the third day.  Patron requesting material is notified of recall status and asked if they wish to borrow material through INTERLIBRARY LOAN.  Patron must fill out the proper forms through ILL, or by clicking on ILL on the Jernigan Library homepage.

3. A third recall notice is sent out informing patron of overdue material, and that a hold has been placed on their transcript until the overdue material is returned.

(If an item is checked out but is not overdue, a "hold" may be placed on the book under the social security number of the patron needing the item.)
